Gary Yong was a recent participant of the 10th Berlinale Talent Campus Feb 11-16 (during the Berlin International Film Festival) where his latest project "Take Me with You" (co-directed with Rini Yun Keagy) was selected for a rare personal mentoring with Alex Rodriguez, the Oscar-nominated editor of such films as "Children of Men" and "Y Tu Mamá También". The internationally renowned editor helped the co-directors to polish and refine the cut of their short film, which is in advanced post-production and will be released in the spring/summer. - Feb '12

Gary Yong is one of 10 international directors who have been nominated for the Uppsala Award in Memory of Ingmar Bergman, at the upcoming 30th Uppsala International Short Film Festival in Sweden. The award, which consists of 50 000 SEK and a work of art by a local artist, is handed out by the Cultural Affairs Board in the city of Uppsala, the birthplace of Ingmar Bergman. It is given to a young and promising filmmaker, who pushes the boundaries of film art. Canopy Crossings is playing in the International Competition of the festival, taking place 24-30 October 2011. 1/10/11
